Many students have problems with the topics of thermodynamics and phase equilibria. Most teachers have little idea how to teach it, which further complicates things. A lot of books have wrong or incomplete information on these topics. I will recommend that you study these topics from A Textbook of Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics by K.V. Narayanan. This book contains the best theory and problems on thermodynamics that I have ever seen. Examiners love to set both theoretical and numerical problems based on the material in the book in competitive exams (JEE-Main, JEE Advanced, NEET, WBJEE etc). In some cases, they have even copied problems verbatim. The material is explained in an easy-to-understand way and contains excellent illustrations. Only study the parts of the book that are in your syllabus. The last chapter called Chemical Reaction Equilibria contains some important explanations and formulae which will help you as well. Once again, there is a very good chance you will see theoretical/numerical questions from this book, so make sure you understand the theory of the topics that are in your syllabus and practice the related problems as well.
