Classes 9-10 – General Advice

Hello there! If you’re looking for advice and info on how to excel in classes 9 and 10, specially in you’re class 10 board exams in India, look no further! I was once in your shoes and lacked proper guidance on how to excel in class 9 and 10 without overstressing myself, which is why I am giving you some general pointers on how to stay calm and do your best!

  • First of all, the syllabus of pretty much all subjects for class 9 is much bigger than that of class 8, as is the difficulty level, which can be daunting for a lot of students. DO NOT panic if you have difficulty understanding concepts which are introduced in class 9 and above DO NOT memorize. Get help from somebody who is qualified and can clear your doubts. Remember, it is vital to internalize the concepts introduced in class 9 because they will form the foundation for classes 10, 11 and 12. DO NOT feel ashamed to speak out in school or in your tuition classes if you don’t understand anything. The key is to thoroughly understand the basic concepts and the rest will fall into place.
  • Secondly, when you’re in class 10 don’t feel daunted by the upcoming board exams. Like I said before thoroughly understand the concepts that are introduced in class 10 and remember : PRACTICE! PRACTISE! PRACTISE! From my personal experience as a student, specially in mathematics and science related subjects the key to success is speed, which comes with practice! Later on in this blog I will list some textbooks which are a must have for any student in class 10 board exams.
  • Lastly, always remember that this is only the beginning. Even if you do not fare as well as you would have liked, remember that it’s not the end of the world, but only the beginning. What is most important is the knowledge you gained during this time which will help you in classes 11 and 12 and subsequently college/university admissions. So, do not fear. There’s a wide range of career paths you can choose from later on, even if your class 10 board results are not up to your expectation.
