The above activity can be carried out as follows:
Aim: To investigate if the paper pieces can be joined to form the original paper and make the necessary conclusions.
Materials Required: Piece of paper.
Procedure:
(i) Cut a piece of paper in four equal square pieces.
(ii) Cut each smaller piece further into four equal square pieces.
(iii) Now lay these pieces such that the pieces acquire the shape of the original piece of paper as shown below:
Observations:
The overall shape is the same, however the sizes of the paper pieces are different.
Conclusions:
This change is only a change in the size, which is a physical property of the paper. Thus, the change is a physical change.
