Yes, I have experienced that the train in which I am sitting appears to move while it is at rest. My train had just halted at a station and I was dozing off. Then a heard a tremendous noise and looked up and saw another train hurtling by on the other side of the platform. For a moment, I felt disoriented. It appeared for a few moments that the other train was stationary and my train was moving! And moving forward fast! Then I happened to look at the stationary platform and the objects on it and realised that my train was indeed stationary. Thus, we can see that motion is a relative concept. My train would appear stationary to an observer on a platform. To me, my train would appear stationary while the other train would appear to be in motion. To an observer on the other train my train would appear to be in motion while theirs would appear to be stationary. We need to specify a reference point when talking about motion because motion is a relative concept.
