The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is one of the best universities in Norway. It has an excellent reputation not just in Norway, but all over the world and although it focuses on science and technology, this university has something for everybody. Although undergraduate courses are taught in Norwegian, there’s tons of master’s degrees offered in English. Their duration is two years in general. There is no tuition fee and the university has excellent reputation among employers, if you’re planning on staying on in Norway after graduating. You can even opt to do a PhD after completing your master’s. In short, there’s tons of opportunities and I highly recommend this university for higher studies!
One thing to note as a prospective master’s applicant is that although there is no tuition fees, you still have to pay for your living expenses in Norway which are on the high side. NTNU does not provide any kind of financial assistance for master’s students. However, there are scholarships offered by external agencies that can help with that.
Another piece of good news is that in most cases you don’t have to pay for health insurance. Non-EU/non-EEA students who will remain in Norway for more than 3 months will be covered by the National Insurance Scheme. EU/EEA students should bring a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) which is portable and you can avail the same benefits to which citizens of Norway are entitled. Note: Nordic citizens will be covered by the National Insurance Scheme and do not need to provide any documentation.
