Masters – General Facts

Hello all! Hope you are doing well! In this post I am going to share some general information about Masters education in India. So, those of you are planning to go for a Masters after your undergraduate degree, read on!

  • Firstly, I am going to start off by saying that a Masters degree in any subject gives you the competitive edge over people that don’t have one. It helps immensely when it comes to applying for jobs or even if you want to pursue doctoral education in India or abroad. You can get placed in top-notch companies with a high quality Masters degree and it also opens doors to a career in research and/or academia. In a country like India which has a huge number of people with Bachelors degrees, a Masters degree sets you apart from the crowd.
  • A Masters degree will enable you to make friends and network with like minded people of your age who share similar interests. Who knows, you and your pals might come up with the next Google or Facebook! IMO, expand your horizons and go beyond your comfort zone! Who knows what exciting new opportunities might arise!
  • I will end this post by saying that if you’re aiming for a Masters degree, try to go for the best possible college/university in your field. Employers/doctoral programs put a lot of emphasis on your Masters degree. It carries much more weight than your undergraduate degree. Aim as high as you can and work hard during your Masters and you will be rewarded! Good luck!
