Procedure:
(i) Fill half the beaker with water.
(ii) Put a handful of wheat seeds in the water and stir well. Wait for some time and observe what happens.
Observations:
You will observe that some seeds float on water.

Conclusions:
We conclude that
- The seeds which float are lighter than those which sink.
- They are lighter because they are damaged and are thus devoid of nutrients and are hollow.
- This is a good method for separating the healthy seeds from the damaged ones.
