Answer:

Aim:
To observe which of the three substances takes the greatest amount of force to break and make conclusions based on that.
 
Materials Required:
Iron nail, a piece of chalk and a rubber band.

Procedure:

Try breaking the iron nail, piece of chalk and a rubber band by hammering, cutting or stretching. Note the observations.

Observations:

  • The iron nail is impossible to break.
  • The chalk requires some effort to break.
  • The rubber band is the easiest to break.
Breakable or Not: You will notice that the iron nail is impossible to break. The chalk and the rubber band require much less effort to break.

Conclusions: The iron nail is impossible to break, indicating that the particles are held together with greater force in the iron nail.
